Morero admits upcoming G20 Summit being used as a catalyst to clean up Joburg, provide services

Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero has admitted that the upcoming G20 Summit is being used as a catalyst to provide services and clean up the city.  

Morero says this is being done through weekly operations through a programme which is aimed at restoring the dignity of residents by improving living conditions.

But he said before this, the city had started work last year, focusing on by-law enforcement, crime prevention and service delivery and financial stability.

Morero made the admission during an interview on Anele and the Club on 947 on Friday morning.

"We made clear priorities on where the budget should go and the bulk of the budget went to infrastructure, road and water infrastructure and now we are at a stage of execution."
