The partners in the KwaZulu-Natal Government of Provincial Unity (GPU) are scheduled to meet next week, Tuesday in Durban, to discuss the future stability of their coalition arrangement.
The urgent meeting follows the National Freedom Party (NFP)'s expressed dissatisfaction with the current arrangement and its call for the recall of certain leaders from other coalition parties.

The NFP, which holds the pivotal "kingmaker" seat in the coalition, on Saturday briefed the media in Durban, announcing that it would also be meeting with the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party to chart a way forward.
Sources close to the GPU confirmed that the coalition partners would be meeting next week, on Tuesday in Durban, following unsuccessful attempts to hold the discussion this past week.
The meeting is necessitated by the NFP's recent reconsideration of its position within the GPU.
While the NFP has not formally withdrawn its single seat from the GPU, the party strongly believes the coalition is unstable. However, this view is reportedly not shared by other GPU partners.
