NERSA yet to decide if it will challenge court ruling related to electricity tariffs

The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) said it has yet to decide whether it will file an affidavit against a court ruling related to electricity tariffs.
On Friday, the North Gauteng High Court found NERSA's cost studies and consultation processes were inadequate.
The regulator has until 18 November to convince the court why the ruling should not be final.
NERSA's Charles Hlebela said that despite the ruling, current municipal tariffs remain valid.
"NERSA is currently assessing the full impact of the judgment on the electricity industry and its own administrative processes. A decision on the most responsible, reasonable, and efficient way forward will be communicated in due course."
