The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has accused the State of wasting its resources in the case of its member of Parliament (MP), Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla.
The MP’s 10-day trial formally began in the Durban High Court on Monday.
She is accused of using social media to incite terror and public violence linked to the 2021 civil unrest.

The party's national spokesperson, Nhlamulo Ndhlela, said the State has a weak case.
“We know that there ewere about 17 resources that were deployed and paid by the NPA [National Prosecuting Authority], and if this is what they came out with, then this is totally embarrassing, especially when they were asked a simple question as to why did they took so long for them to come to this conclusion - let alone the trumped up charges because this is what this is, trumped up charges.”
Ndhlela claimed Zuma-Sambudla is being targeted.
“That alone tells you that there is no case and that they are they at pains and they are desperate in terms of trying to pin down something on comrade Duduzile.”
The trial will get into its second day on Tuesday, with the prosecution set to lead evidence from a new witness.
