The attempted murder case of alleged crime boss Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala has been transferred to the High Court for trial.

Matlala appeared in the Alexandra Magistrates Court on Tuesday for the centralisation of his cases.

He is accused of organising a hit on his socialite former girlfriend, Tebogo Thobejane, and also faces ten other attempted murder charges involving high-profile individuals, such as taxi boss Joe Sibanyoni and Seunkie Mokubung, also known as DJ Wetties.

It was a brief court appearance for Matlala who stood in the dock with his four co-accused including his wife, Tsakane.

Prosecutors told the court Matlala’s case is ready to be transferred to the high court for trial.

Another alleged crime boss who has been subject of the Madlanga Commission is Katiso “KT” Molefe

He appeared immediately after Matlala in the magistrates court on Tuesday morning, but prosecutors said his case is not ready for transferal to the high court.
