The 2025 Township Economy Summit takes place in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni next week, from 21-22 November.
This annual gathering is described as the premier event for township entrepreneurs, corporate South Africa and government to connect in an inclusive manner.
A highlight of the event will be the second edition of the Township Economy Awards, to be announced on the final day, 22 November.
The Awards shine a spotlight on those entrepreneurs who are driving change, innovation, and growth in their communities, says the Township Entrepreneurs Alliance (TEA).
This year as well, it all ties in with the upcoming G20 Summit taking place in Johannesburg, says township entrepreneur and business speaker Bulelani Balabala.
"As task force members ourselves, I think we played a critical role in putting together policy from an entrepreneurship perspective... The biggest thing we would then hope for is that policy will translate into action. We're pulling in some of the participants in the various streams to come and tap in to what actually happens on the ground in South Africa."
This year, the Township Economy Summit is centered around the theme 'Inclusive Economic Future', bringing together over 1,000 innovative township business owners from across the country.
It's a platform where the demand meets supply say the organisers; enabling those who are offering products, machinery, equipment, and services to connect with those who are in need of them.
