According to AccuWeather, Johannesburg will experience a mostly cloudy day on Friday with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms later in the afternoon.
Temperatures are expected to peak around 23 °C, with an overnight low near 13 °C, and winds blowing gently from the northwest at around 14 km/h.
Pretoria’s forecast presents a similar picture, with clouds dominating most of the day and a chance of isolated thundershowers.
The high temperature is predicted to reach 24 °C, while the evening dips to around 15 °C. Winds will be moderate, coming from the northwest at roughly 13 km/h, with gusts pushing higher.
Humidity levels are expected to climb in both cities, contributing to a muggy feel despite the cloud cover. The probability of thunderstorms carries a risk of sudden, intense rain bursts, so residents planning outdoor activities may want to keep an eye on rapidly changing conditions.
In Johannesburg, there is a roughly 55–60 % chance of rainfall later in the day.
As night falls, Pretoria will become partly cloudy, reducing the risk of further storms, while Johannesburg faces lingering cloud cover.
