Cape Town has featured in many 'best of' lists over the years, thanks to its stunning natural attractions and growing popularity as a world city of choice.

Now the city's made it on to the list of Time Out's 31 coolest streets in the world in 2025.

It's vibey Kloof Street that's been singled out by the global magazine's network of local editors and experts.

They were tasked with nominating the street that epitomises the very best of their city and Time Out’ global travel team then narrowed down the list.

Criteria included food, drink, culture, fun and community spirit.

As Time Out says, if you really want to experience local life at its most authentic when exploring a new city, thebest thing you can do is take to the streets.

And Kloof Street 'captures the essence of Cape Town’s urban charm'.

"Essentially, Kloof Street feels like Long Street’s more refined sibling, packed with new pop-ups, old-world character and just a hint of mischief after dark."

The lively Cape Town strip placed 22nd out of the 31 selected cities, behind Calle del Barquillo in Spanish capital Madrid and ahead of London's Blackstock Road.

It outranked streets such as the Pacific Coast Highway in Central Malibu and Chicago's Roscoe Street in the US.

Rua do Senado in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was voted coolest in the world. Orange Street in Osaka, Japan, took second spot, followed by Rua do Bonjardim in Porto, Portugal.
