Alleged underworld gang boss Nafiz Modack has denied using multiple cellphone numbers to orchestrate the murder of top cop Lieutenant-Colonel Charl Kinnear.
Modack remained defiant on Thursday while being cross-examined about the charges he faces related to Kinnear's murder five years ago.
Kinnear was investigating Modack when he was shot dead outside his bishop lavis home in September 2020.

State prosecutor Greg Wolmarans set out to show that Modack used at least four phone numbers to plan the murder of Kinnear.
Evidence shows Modack instructed and paid co-accused Zane Kilian to ping the whereabouts of Kinnear before his eventual murder in September 2020.
Wolmarans used information collected from various cellphone companies to show Modack was using different phone numbers to communicate with Kilian.
"Someone else took your handset and put in the SIM for the '100 200' number and made use of your handset. Is that what you're telling us?"
Modack: "That's right, my lord."
Wolmarans: "Okay."
Modack told the court his brother, co-accused Yaseen Modack, may have been using his phone.
