The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) is on Thursday expected to release a report into the death of a Walter Sisulu University (WSU) student.
Sisonke Mbolekwa was shot during a protest on campus, in the Eastern Cape, in April.
Residence manager Manelisi Mampane has been charged with Mbolekwa's murder and the attempted murder of another student.
Education student Sisonke Moleka was murdered at the institution’s Mthatha campus while protesting poor living conditions.

Other students who were attacked include Sethu Ndamase, Lizwa Nzumo and Ntando Gqetywa.
Their families are still hoping to get justice for their children and for the institution to be held to accountable.
Speaking on behalf of the families, Ncedo Kolanisi said, “The family believes that Walter Sisulu has grossly violated the human rights of students, it can never be in an academic area that where students are meant to come back with qualifications, but they rather come back in caskets.”
He said the commission’s report must have consequences and wants criminal charges on those involved.
“So we wish to see a report that is fruitful and touches on that.”
Meanwhile, Manelisi Mampane's case returns in court next week
