Alexandra Taxi Association chairperson Vusi Mayaba gunned down

Chairperson of the Alexandra Taxi Association, Vusi Mayaba, has been shot dead.

Mayaba was shot last night after leaving a restaurant in Woodmead.

His death comes a few days after two taxi owners from the same association were killed in a drive-by shooting in Midrand.  

Johannesburg MMC for Transport, Kenny Kunene, said his department is concerned about the ongoing violence in the taxi industry.
