Police in the Western Cape are investigating the murder of a 14-year-old girl who was shot and killed in Factreton over the weekend.
The victim was caught in the crossfire on Saturday when an unknown assailant opened fire on a Volkswagen Polo.
An adult male who sustained a gunshot wound was treated on the scene.
"Upon arrival on the scene, they found the body of a 14-year-old girl who sustained a gunshot wound. The suspect fled the scene and is yet to be arrested. Murder and attempted murder cases were registered for investigation," said Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg.
