The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) believes the only way to counter President Donald Trump’s tough sanctions on several countries is for the global community to unite and push back against the United States.
Since Trump’s re-election, the US President has imposed heavy tariffs on multiple nations, including a 30% import tax on South Africa. He has also repeated his false claim of a “white genocide” in South Africa as a reason for refusing to engage with the country at any G20 engagement.
Speaking to the media on Thursday on the outcomes of the EFF’s Central Command Team meeting, party leader Julius Malema stressed that countries must stand together against Trump.
“His attempt at unilaterally inviting and un-inviting countries to the G20 simply because of his political interests further confirms the assessment that Donald Trump is the new Hitler that the world is faced with, and failure to recognise this reality will result in devastating consequences for the global political and economic order,” Malema stated.
Malema insists that no country can stand up against Trump on its own.
“The EFF reiterates its continued call for global solidarity against Donald Trump and his reckless policies, including trade, tariff and foreign polic,y which is underpinned by a desire for war and sustaining of an economy built on military strength and imperialism, rather than economic cooperation,” he concluded.
