Music lovers brave wet weather for Good Morning Concert

Music lovers have braved the wet weather and are gathering at Constitution Hill in Johannesburg to enjoy the sounds of some of South Africa’s renowned artists.

The Good Morning Concert, hosted by entertainment agency Until Until, features the likes of jazz artist Thandiswa Mazwai and amapiano DJ Oscar Mbo.

Despite the rainy conditions, organisers said that attendees can still expect a full day of live music and food.

The gloomy weather has not deterred music lovers, who are filling up the Braamfontein venue in anticipation of an afternoon filled with great music and good food.

Cross-genre performances include DJ Oscar Mbo, Cape Town jazz group Kujenga, and rising star Lordekeys.

Until Until founder Thandile Mafanya said that the concert was created not only to give artists a platform, but also to support local food vendors.

"So, we've got a very good soundscape and layout of artists. We've got great food vendors, which, you know, I didn't mention earlier, was also a great motivator in us starting this event is that in the same way artists never had a platform to perform their music, food vendors didn't have events to go and, you know, cater to and stuff like that."

The music is expected to continue until late Saturday afternoon.
