The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness has renewed its call to parents to ensure their children are immunised.
It has reported a further increase in the outbreak of measles and said it is also managing a diphtheria outbreak.
Department spokesperson Monique Johnstone said targeted outreach is underway in areas including Khayelitsha, Mfuleni, Dunoon and Citrusdal.
She added that clinics will be open to the public over the festive season.
"As we are heading to the busy holiday season with families travelling and gathering, the Department of Health and Wellness urges parents and legal guardians to ensure their children are fully immunised."
