How to keep fit without the gym this holiday season

Keeping fit during the holiday season is all about finding smart ways to stay active.
Wellness expert Lisa Raleigh explains that it is not about finding time for long, grueling workouts, but rather incorporating small, manageable movements throughout the day.
She suggests ‘movement snacks’, activities that can be done in short intervals, like mopping floors or even doing squats while doing chores.

Take advantage of your environment by parking further away from shopping centres and walking or taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
“Your body doesn’t care about [gym] memberships, your body cares about movement.”
She recommends engaging in fun activities like playing with kids, going for walks with family, or playing sports like paddle or soccer with friends.
Even small movements like bouncing on a trampoline or doing push-ups against a wall can make a big difference.
“Walking is amazing at just regulating our blood sugar, especially when done after a meal and prevents that holiday weight-gain,” she says
