A close friend of the late Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, has remembered him as a deeply loving friend and father.

Arnold Eckersley spoke at Stock’s funeral service earlier on Tuesday, held at a small church in Rosebank. During the service, Eckersley shared reflections on their youth and the bond they maintained throughout their lives.

Stock was killed last week in front of the Zambesi building in the Johannesburg CBD.

As the sound of the organ and hymns echoed through the church, family and friends were seen comforting one another. Reading the eulogy, Eckersley reminisced about the days he and Stock spent together in their small hometown.

"He was a loyal friend, always willing to help, and his ambitions were never just about himself," Eckersley said. "They were about building a better future for his children, and for the country that he loved so deeply."

Eckersley concluded his tribute by thanking Stock’s family for sharing him with the country.
