Police are probing a deadly shooting in Nyanga in the Western Cape that claimed the lives of three people and left another injured.
The incident occurred at the Ofcon Hostel when two unknown suspects opened fire.
Three victims, estimated to be between 25 and 40 years old, succumbed to their injuries, while the fourth victim was transported to a medical facility after sustaining a gunshot wound.
Police spokesperson Andre Traut said preliminary investigations suggest that the attack may be linked to an attempt to eliminate a witness.
"The victims, aged between 25 and 40, were shot when two unknown suspects opened fire at a residence in Nyanga. The case is being investigated by detectives attached to the Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit and police are pursuing all leads." Traut added.
