Water supply at Voëlvlei plant expected to stabilise after maintenance

Water supply at the Voelvlei water treatment plant is expected to stabilise on Tuesday, according to the City of Cape Town's water and sanitation department.
Residents living in Bloekombos, Wallacedene, Kraaifontein, Melkbostrand, Atlantis and surrounding areas have reported no water after the treatment plant was shut down due a pipe burst on Friday last week.
City Mayco member for Water and Sanitation Zahid Badroodien the city's teams have provided water tankers for the affected areas.
"It is expected that the repair will be completed through the course of the day this will then allow for the water treatment plant to restart and eventually for water to refill the reservoirs," said Badroodien.
