It remains unclear when flights in and out of Hoedspruit in Limpopo will resume as flood damage continues to disrupt the area.
On Wednesday, Airlink grounded operations after torrential rain left roads impassable and restricted access to the airport amid an orange level nine weather warning for parts of the province.
The suspension comes as communities in Limpopo grapple with widespread flooding, including closed schools, power outages, and cut-off access to basic services.
The airline states that flights will resume only once the provincial government and air traffic and navigation services declare it safe for operations.
The carrier says it is working with SANParks and local lodges to assist stranded passengers and is contacting customers booked to fly for the remainder of the week.
"Airlink is in constant liaison with local stakeholders, including SANParks and the various private lodges in the area, to assist passengers who are stranded at those destinations. Airlink is also alerting customers who are booked to fly to or from Hoedspruit for the remainder of this week, said Airlink spokesperson Linden Burns.
