City Power identifies Lenasia as a hotspot for non-payment

City Power says it has identified Lenasia as a hotspot for non-payment, illegal connections and vandalism of infrastructure.
The area is one of its biggest regions; however, it has the lowest paying rate with an overall debt of R250 million.
On Friday the power utility visited nine businesses which have an outstanding debt of R20 million.
Spokesperson Isaac Mangena says this is particularly concerning because there is a high number of businesses operating there, meaning they are making profit but not using that to pay for services they use.
