Alleged underworld gang boss Nafiz Modack made a brief appearance in the Western Cape High Court on Monday.
Modack faces 122 charges and is on trial along with 14 others for various crimes related to allegedly operating a criminal enterprise.
The matter was postponed on Monday due to one of the defence attorneys being ill.
Modack's lawyer, advocate Bashier Sibda, was due to re-examine Modack today after the state closed its case in November last year.

However, the matter was yet again delayed after the court heard that defense attorney advocate Pauline Andrews was ill and being treated in the hospital.
Andrews' colleague, advocate Berger Brandt, explained the situation.
"We have been informed that she has been admitted to the hospital. We're not sure why. We're not sure when she's going to be released from the hospital. I can confirm this morning that it's currently still the situation."
Judge Robert Henney postponed the matter to next week monday for Andrews to be present.
