Eight Milnerton High learners assault case postponed to March

Eight Milnerton High School learners charged with various counts of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm made a brief appearance in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
Six of the accused, who are grade 12 learners, appeared in one court, while two underage learners who face the same charges appeared in court for minors.
The accused learners face charges related to at least eight incidents of alleged assault at Milnerton High School, including a video that went viral on social media.

Two others who are minors are yet to appear for the eight charges of assault they face.
State prosecutor Ricardo Swarts told the court that police are still busy consulting the accused and complainants in the matter.
The state also still requires photographs and video content to be downloaded from the accused's cellphones.
The matter was postponed to 11 March for the state to finalise the investigation.
