Emergency response teams have been hailed for their operations during weather-related incidents in parts of the country.
Limpopo, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Eastern Cape, as well as the North-West, have been rocked by damaging weather, which has, in some cases, left families destitute.
President Cyril Ramaphosa said the teams have done a commendable job responding to affected communities.

He was speaking on the sidelines of an oversight visit to flood-stricken Mpumalanga on Monday.
“Our rescue and quick response agencies have been really up to the task - they have responded extremely well, the South African National Defence Force, as well as the emergency services here in the province and at the local government level.”
