Chapman's Peak Drive was closed to traffic in both directions after the accident to allow emergency teams to respond and rescue those trapped in the car. It was reopened to traffic just before 1pm.
Western Cape emergency medical services said one patient was rescued from the vehicle and taken to a nearby hospital, while a second person was treated at the scene.
