The Gauteng Education Transport Service has vowed to implement zero tolerance for reckless driving following Monday's tragic crash that killed 14 learners.
The 22-year-old driver, Ayanda Dludla, responsible for the deadly incident, was previously affiliated with the association.
Provincial chairperson Matthews Mokhachane has confirmed that complaints about Dludla had been raised before the crash.
Mokhachane was speaking at the funeral of two of the victims, Lesego Sefatsa and Phehello Motaung, held in Seshego in the Vaal on Saturday.
He emphasised that the association is fully committed to accountability, and their presence at the funeral was a sign of respect for the grieving family.
Mokhachane assured the public that the association would not shy away from responsibility for the tragedy.
He condemned Dludla’s reckless actions, calling them unacceptable, and promised immediate measures to ensure such a disaster never happens again.
“We even thinking of applying to the government for age limit for PRDP so that whoever is carrying children is someone with a responsibility.”
