Film and television workers have renewed their call for the reinstatement of frozen government funding.
They protested outside Parliament on Wednesday.
Their gripe is that the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC) has not released its promised filmmaking stimulus or accepted new applications since March 2024.
Protest organiser and film producer, Wandile Molebatsi, said production companies are struggling to pay high-interest loans, which were usually settled through the rebate.
He has also called for an urgent engagement with the DTIC Minister, Parks Tau.
"We want a meeting in the next 10 days with the Minister and his deputies and with the different funding agencies that are under his purview as a minister and discuss the challenges that we're having with the film incentive."
