T20 World Cup: Bavuma backs Proteas to make strong statement

Proteas captain Temba Bavuma said he is backing South Africa to make a strong statement at the T20 World Cup, which gets underway next Saturday.
Bavuma said the squad was confident and well-prepared, with plenty of firepower both with the bat and the ball.
South Africa begins their campaign on Monday the 9th of February with a clash against Canada.

Bavuma believed it was the perfect opportunity to set the tone early in the tournament.
He said the balance in the side, combined with growing belief in the group, gave the Proteas every chance of going deep at this year’s World Cup.
"I think the other thing as well, looking at the Test championship where you have guys who were there, who are now in the T20 team, they will carry that belief and confidence that we can go over the line. So, I'm very excited for the guys and as a country we should be excited and get behind them 100 per cent," said Bavuma.
