Madlanga Commission: Witness F reveals details of Matlala and Sibiya meeting

Further details are beginning to emerge about the role Witness F played in facilitating communication between alleged criminal "tenderpreneur" Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya.
Witness F, a member of the Gauteng Organised Crime unit, confirmed to the Madlanga Commission that he was instructed by Sibiya to invite Matlala to an event at his home in 2024.

The commission has been going through evidence of WhatsApp messages between Witness F and various senior officers, including the Gauteng head of organised crime, Richard Shibiri.
Witness F confirmed that Matlala attended a function at Sibiya’s home, together with Shibiri and other senior police officials.
“If I can remember correctly, it was an event at General Sibiya’s house. It was a thanksgiving ceremony,” Witness F said.
