Some residents in Midrand have expressed frustration as Wednesday marks day seven for several areas without water supply.

The interruption, which was sparked by a leak in infrastructure, has left many households with dry taps, causing fury among affected residents.

Earlier this week, Johannesburg mayor Dada Morero promised that water restoration would begin yesterday, but this resident says supply was restored briefly after a protest at very low pressure

She says shortly thereafter, it was cut off again

" So yesterday there was a march we went there then they brought water back oh we had water but now that the match is done we are back to school and so government is just they need to start thinking about users they must be thoughtful about us as south africans we pay taxes wake up going to work everyday my little sister has a child that has to go to school and I'm saying I have to carry buckets to work so that I can get water for the little kgosi it's not okay, especially with the money we are paying."
