The Madlanga Commission has confirmed receiving a postponement application from controversial businessman Suliman Carrim.
Carrim was due to appear before the commission on Friday, but his lawyers are seeking a later date to prepare him.

Carrim initially launched a court challenge to get out of appearing at the commission; however, it was dismissed on Thursday.
He has been implicated by several witnesses at the commission, alleging he received kickbacks from tender tycoon Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
This was in return for using his political sway to get a company linked to Matlala awarded a R360 million South African Police Service (SAPS) tender.
The commission’s evidence leader, Mathew Chaskalson, did not oppose Carrim’s application.
He further told the commission that an almost 400-page bundle of documents for questioning was only sent to Carrim’s lawyers on Thursday.
Moreover, the commission has pushed his testimony to next month. The commission’s chairperson, Mbuyiseli Madlanga, ruled on the application.
“We make the following the order, the matter is postponed to 9 and 10 March 2026. Mr Carrim is ordered to be attendance and to give testimony on those two days and beyond if need be.”
