The Umkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has announced the appointment of a new Presidential Task Team, which is expected to contribute significantly to daily party operations ahead of the local government elections.

Party leader Jacob Zuma announced the 11 team members, a group that includes his son, Duduzane Zuma.

Zuma stated that he is unable to attend to all party duties personally and will be delegating responsibilities to the team to ensure consistent operational management.

“They are going to be playing very important roles in terms of helping and adding to what we say. For example, I might be in Durban, Joburg, or Cape Town and everywhere else, so it is important that I have a team that will be on the job all the time,” Zuma said.

Zuma said the team was formed to focus on the growth of the party.

“Our struggle is big; it is not small and we need to have manpower and people who are going to work together.”
