Four wanted suspects have been killed in a shootout with police in KwaZulu-Natal.
Officers said the group was wanted for committing murders, attempted murders and robberies.
Police acted on a tip-off where the group was hiding in Inanda on Tuesday night, but the group allegedly defied orders.
Police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda: “When police arrived at the scene, a shootout ensued between the suspects and police, which resulted in the four wanted suspects sustaining fatal gunshot wounds.
“Four firearms, all of which were pistols and several rounds of ammunition were found in the possession of the suspects.”
Police officers were unharmed during the gunfight.
