As people try to juggle healthy living and work life, 24-hour gym facilities are becoming more common.
Charl Mynhardt, an agent for Anytime Fitness, who recently opened a second facility in Sea Point, said it helps build community while offering flexibility and freedom from traditional gym hours.
The facility is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“We had a few people in this morning at 12.15 am, and again at 2.38 am. What you find is that there are remote workers, hospitality workers, and government services workers. Another thing we have noticed is new parents."

While 24-hour facilities offer more flexibility, it is important to assure people that their safety is also a priority, Mynhardt added.
The gym has implemented additional security and safety measures, including on-site security staff, secure entry systems, and IP cameras.
“After our staff leaves, we have got actual security that come and sit at the front desk, you’ve got a tag-in system by a traditional fob key or your phone,” he said.
