Sooka labels prosecuting authority's excuses for apartheid-era crimes shameful

A commissioner from the original Truth and Reconciliation Inquiry has dismissed as shameful the reasons given by some prosecutors for why apartheid-era crimes have not been prosecuted.

Yasmin Sooka spent the day testifying at the inquiry investigating TRC cases. She accused former Presidents Jacob Zuma and Thabo Mbeki of making a mockery of the TRC.

Sooka was asked to respond to the reasons that prosecutors gave for not prosecuting apartheid-era crimes.
