Britain’s former prince Andrew is allegedly facing charges of misconduct linked to his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

He was arrested on Thursday on his 66th birthday.

South African author and British royal commentator Arlene Prinsloo said he allegedly channelled sensitive trade and economic information to Epstein as a British envoy.

"It's a big development in the whole Epstein saga today and especially that it is Andrew's 66th birthday. He had access to highly confidential reports about trade and other countries. It is alleged that he passed along this info to his friend, Jeffrey Epstein."

Prinsloo added that an additional charge may be related to Virgina Giuffre, who won a massive settlement against the ex-prince, alleging sexual relations with him while she was underage.

"Another possible charge against him will be that he misused his position and asked one of his special protection officers to dig into the background of Virginia Giuffre."
