"When hitting the road feels like setting sail."
That's how Volvo punts the driving experience for its fully electric EX90, and motoring journo Melinda Ferguson would agree.

The very powerful EX90 can be configured with five, six or seven seats.
Driven by twin electric motors, it delivers 380 kW and 910 Nm of torque, returning 0–100 km/h acceleration in close to 4.10 seconds.
Its range is just under 615 km.
"This huge 3-on SUV hurtles 0-100 in about 4.8 seconds - It is fast, as all of these electric cars are."
While there's no other EV on the market that offers all the bells and whistles that the EX90 does, your closest competitors would be the BMW iX and the Mercedes-Benz EQS, Ferguson says.
The car's safety level is "off the charts", its sensing technology featuring a real-time 360° view of your surroundings.
"With its lane keep assist and blind spot tech, it will literally pull you back into the lane."
Ferguson loved its lux cabin featuring the trademark Volvo recycled, sustainable materials and a state-of-the-art Bowers & Wilkins sound system.
She did find the high-tech approach a bit cumbersome, but acknowledged that if you owned the car you would get to know how to navigate accessing functions through multiple screens.
Of course actually owning the EX90 would require a huge financial commitment - it sells for R2 650 000.
