As many households struggle to make ends meet, Grocify is taking the guesswork out of grocery shopping.

The free mobile app has just launched on the Google Play Store, helping consumers find the cheapest grocery deals in their area.

The brains behind the tool, Ethan Stander, said he was inspired by an idea from his girlfriend’s mother to create a price comparison tool.

“I would usually catch her comparing grocery prices from four or five retailers, and she just looked at me and asked, ‘Can’t you create something to do this?’”

The app uses geolocation to find the nearest stores and compares the prices of stocked items.

The app accounts for fuel costs, helping you decide if a deal is really worth the drive.
