NSFAS processes majority of applications flagged for missing documents

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme says it has processed 90 percent of the applications that initially had outstanding documents.
The scheme said that more than half have already been approved for funding.
NSFAS Acting CEO Waseem Carrim briefed the media on Thursday about the latest briefing held in Pretoria.

The scheme provided an update on the progress with applications, challenges, and online interventions.
Last month, Acting CEO Waseem Carrim announced that there are 200,000 applications with outstanding documents, and since then, 180,000 have completed their submissions.
"In some instances, we find that the consent form would not be completed or it would be completed for one parent and not both, while both were picked up by Home Affairs. Therefore, household income has to be checked on both."
He adds that more than 100,000 applications have been rejected.
