Nine mini-bus taxis have been gutted in a blaze at Nyanga taxi rank.
Taxi associations, the Cape Organisation for the Democratic Taxi Association (CODETA) and the South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO), could not confirm whether the incident is related to ongoing feud in the industry.
Firefighter crews were dispatched to the scene at the taxi rank in Emms Drive in the early hours of Friday morning.
City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson Jermaine Carelse said firefighters managed to contain and extinguish the fire by 2 am.
"Preliminary reports are that five Quantum and four Iveco Sprinters were destroyed in the blaze. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is undetermined."
