N11 near Rathoke weighbridge closed after truck carrying dangerous goods overturns

The N11 near the Rathoke weighbridge has been closed after a truck carrying dangerous goods overturned, causing a spillage on the roadway.

The Limpopo Department of Transport said emergency teams are on the scene working to contain and clear the hazardous material.

Motorists are urged to use alternative routes, including the R33 to the N1, or the Plaasboom route towards Polokwane.

Spokesperson Matome Tauetsoala said clean-up operations may take some time, pleading with motorists to exercise patience.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused and kindly request drivers to take alternative routes, which will be those that are traveling from Marble Hall to Mokopane must use the R33 to N1 and if you’re going to Polokwane, you can use the B2534. We will update motorists as soon as the road is open.”
