The Patriotic Alliance (PA) says the information in its possession related to the disappearance of Joshlin Smith is "very compelling", but will first be handed to the police minister before any further public disclosure.
PA leader and Minister of Sports, Arts and Recreation Gayton McKenzie said he will submit new evidence in the case of the missing girl to Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia on Wednesday.
Mckenzie announced while addressing supporters at the launch of the Joshlin Smith Foundation in Saldanha on Sunday.
Joshlin, who was six years old at the time, disappeared from her Middelpos home in February 2024.
Her mother, Kelly Smith, along with Jacquen Appollis and Steveno van Rhyn, have since been sentenced to life imprisonment for kidnapping and human trafficking.
Speaking to hundreds of residents, McKenzie said former accused turned state witness Lourencia Lombaard is prepared to provide further information linked to Joshlin’s kidnapping.
PA spokesperson Steve Motale says the evidence could have a significant impact on the police's handling of the case.
Motale also referenced a previous attempt by McKenzie to hand the alleged mastermind over to the police.
"He already attempted to deliver the mastermind of the crime around Joshlin Smith to the police and was then nearly prosecuted himself for supposedly kidnapping this man to the police station."
Western Cape police said they currently have no tangible information to warrant arrest or prosecution.
