4 alleged extortionists killed in shootout with police in Khayelitsha

Four alleged extortionists have been shot dead in a police shootout in Khayelitsha.
 
Police said they received information about suspects linked to business extortion on Wednesday night.

Officers spotted a car matching the description of the suspects and attempted to pull it over on Japhta K Masemola Road.
 
Police spokesperson Novela Potelwa said the occupants drew firearms and pointed them at the officers.
 
"As a consequence, four yet to be identified men were shot and killed. Three firearms were seized from the scene."
