Minister of Police Firoz Cachalia is expected to meet with the president to discuss the latest developments involving National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola.
The meeting is scheduled to discuss action to be taken after Masemola was served with a summons to appear in court in April.
On Wednesday, Masemola was served in connection with his alleged links to the R360 million tender awarded to alleged crime kingpin Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala.

This comes in the same week as the arrest of 12 police officers who are facing charges of fraud, corruption, and money laundering for the same tender.
There are growing calls for the suspension of Masemola, who remains in his position.
Ministerial spokesperson Kamogelo Mogotsi said the meeting can happen anytime from Thursday.
“The appointment of the national commissioner is a presidential appointment, so the president would then have to advise the minister as to what steps will be taken after the president has sought legal advice, as you intended, that they would be following all the legal prescripts that need to be followed.”
