The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Tshwane has accused the city of applying selective accountability after suspending one MMC over corruption allegations, while another facing the same accusation remains at work.
Corporate and Shared Services MMC Kholofelo Morodi was recently suspended after the Madlanga Commission heard she allegedly attempted to rig a multi-million-rand tender.
Similarly, Tshwane Deputy Mayor and African National Congress (ANC) regional leader Eugene Modise has been linked to a company that allegedly benefited from an irregular tender.
The DA has questioned why Modise has not been placed on suspension.

Triotic Protection Services is a security company that was previously owned by Modise.
The company is among 22 firms that scored a R2.9 billion security tender, which had been flagged for irregularity way before it was awarded.
While Modise claims to have sold the company, an independent forensic investigation has found that he still benefits from it.
DA mayoral candidate Cilliers Brink said it’s hypocritical that Morodi is on suspension for being implicated at the Madlanga Commission while Modise isn’t.
“The mayor acted swiftly against Kholofelo Morodi, another MMC who was suspended after she mentioned at the Madlanga Commission, but Modise stays in place.”
Meanwhile, Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya said Modise’s matter is still being dealt with internally and will soon be subject to council.
