The state has argued in the case of disgraced police officer Fannie Nkosi that his safety cannot be guaranteed if he is released on bail.
Nkosi is currently making a formal bail application in the Pretoria North Magistrate's Court following his arrest earlier this month.

The arrest was carried out during a raid by the Madlanga Task Team shortly after Nkosi had spent several days testifying at a commission.
He has been charged regarding his handling of firearms and ammunition, as well as the discovery of police dockets that had been reported missing from police stations.
Last week, Nkosi told the court that he fears for his life while behind bars. This admission prompted the court to order that he be held in the hospital wing of the Kgosi Mampuru Prison.
However, during Monday's proceedings, State Advocate Tholoana Sekhonyana argued the opposite, maintaining that Nkosi is actually safer remaining in state custody.
