Joburg EMS says it remains on high alert and prepared to respond to incidents across all the metro’s seven regions amid a severe weather forecast this weekend.
The South African Weather Service is warning of cold, wet and windy conditions in parts of the country, including Johannesburg, lasting until Monday.
Temperatures are expected to drop significantly, with heavy rain and strong winds.
These conditions could lead to flooding in low-lying areas, slippery roads and reduced visibility.

Joburg EMS spokesperson Kagiso Phasha has urged residents to exercise extreme caution during this period.
"Please dress warmly and ensure that all heating devices are used safely to prevent fires. Avoid leaving heaters, candles or cooking appliances unattended," said Phasha.
"Motorists are advised to drive with caution, keep a safe following distance and switch on headlights on when visibility is poor. Residents are also urged to avoid crossing flooded roads or bridges and stay away from fallen power lines, while reporting any electrical hazard immediately".
