Nkosi's lawyer argues against punitive bail denial

The lawyer for suspended police sergeant Fannie Nkosi has asked the Pretoria North Magistrate's Court not to deny him bail as a form of punishment.
Nkosi returned to the dock on Monday for a continuation of his bail application.
The suspended sergeant faces firearms-related charges after guns and ammunition were found at his home during a police raid earlier this month.

Judgment on his bail application is set for Wednesday.
In court, Nkosi’s lawyer, advocate Siza Dlali, quoted a judgment previously handed down by magistrate Thandi Theledi.
