The case of the self-confessed child killer Amber Lee Hughes has been postponed due to the unavailability of the presiding judge.
Hughes was convicted for the 2023 murder and rape of her then-boyfriend’s four-year-old daughter.
On Wednesday, the father of slain little Nada Jane Challita was expected to take the stand in the Johannesburg High Court as the State's witness for sentencing proceedings.
Due to unforeseen events, the case has been moved to 19 June.

During her last appearance, Hughes brought the court into confidence, sharing the reason why she committed the crime.
Hughes said she believed that murdering the child was her means of saving the little girl in what she termed unfavourable conditions.
But the State poked holes in her testimony during a lengthy cross-examination.
Meanwhile, the child's father, Ellie Challita, is expected to submit his evidence to the court.
