A heavy police presence has been deployed, with nyalas stationed around the square and Public Order Policing keeping a close watch on the gathering.
The march is expected to proceed through Braamfontein, with traffic disruptions likely, before ending at the Gauteng Legislature where a memorandum will be handed over.
The groups are calling for tighter immigration controls, including stricter visa regulations, a review of asylum policies, and action against businesses employing undocumented foreign nationals.
